Working with Mr. Bergman and my directing career

When I was in my twenties my interest for acting made me spend some years playing small parts, as a “figurant”, in King Lear, Hamlet and Miss Juliet – all directed by Mr. Ingmar Bergman, at the Royal Dramatic Theatre, in Stockholm.

These performances also toured round the world, to London, New York, Tokyo, Moscow, Florence, Barcelona and Milano – an amazing experience, that taught me a great deal about acting, theatre and life in general.

Working with Mr. Bergman was really an interesting experience. To see his professionalism, his discipline, devotion, the culture he created round his productions and his strong personality – made a very strong impression on me and these vivid memories will probably stay, as long as I live.

Some years ago, I studied to become a film- and television director myself, at IHTV – The Swedish School of Television, in Gothenburg. So far, I have directed a few short films:

Gift – a comedy, about a man, trying to poison his family
Utopia – a science fiction drama, with a lot of digital effects in it

… and a some other excellent films, not worth mentioning here. 🙂

I have also directed the comedy A Proposal, by Tjechov, for the stage.
